Back in the day, the sound in video games consisted of beeps and boops that were functional but lacking in any real soul or spirit. As the industry evolved, sounds and music became nearly as integral to the game as the graphics and backdrop to set the mood and add atmosphere.
Bandai understands this.
They've been releasing "Sound Drops" toys for a few years now which are little keychain toys that celebrate the sounds of video games. Our favorite was the Street Fighter Sound Drops from a while back but the New Super Mario Bros Sound Drops are worthy contenders. Eight sound drops are featured in the set which include sampled sounds such as "COIN," "JUMP," and "1UP." NCS supplies the New SMB Sound Drops in complete sets of 8 at US$28/set. Omaezaki Lighthouse 1:150 Scale

Between 1870 to 1876, a Scotsman named Richard Henry Brunton constructed 26 lighthouses across the coastline of Japan to ensure the safe passage of shipping vessels. RH Burton would later be known as the "Father of Japanese lighthouses" for his accomplishments. The first lighthouse to use a rotating lens to sweep across the expanse of the ocean was Omaezaki Lighthouse which began service on May 1, 1874.
To commemorate the lighthouse's 133rd year of operation, Zacca Pap releases a 1/150 scale recreation of the lighthouse which measures 17.5cm (6.88") tall and houses 5 color LEDs which light up in green, blue, purple, yellow, and red. When in operation, the sounds of the ocean may be heard to add to the ambience. The unit operates on three AA batteries which are included. Preorders are shipping today and new orders are welcome.

Rio is the pink-haired matron saint of gamblers across Japan. Well, that how she appears to us. Stylish, slim, and full of bosom, Rio generally dresses up in a black and white casino outfit which consists of a micro skirt and a vest that's occasionally unbuttoned. We suspect that's part of Rio's allure and what might constitute a casino player's "bonus" when she's dealing the cards.
There's no shortage of Rio products in Japan. None. Rio's soul was brokered and sold years ago to bidders who've churned out a steady stream of product to the marketplace. Toy stores generally have stock on hand of assorted Rio merchandise from towels to pillows to figures carved out of PVC. Japanese studio Orchid Seed gets in on the Rio action by releasing a 19cm tall figure with a flared open top and micro skirt.

ToraDora! Aisaka Taiga Figure

High school is a cross-current of rivalries, raging hormones, and relationships - sort of like society at large but encapsulated within a single building. In the ToraDora novella by Yuyuko Takemiya, a fierce looking high school lad named Takasu Ryuuji befriends fellow student Aisaka Taiga who's known as a "Hand Held Tiger." Whereas Takasu is actually a pussycat at heart despite his bad boy looks, Aisaka really is a tigress nonpareil. Together, their unlikely friendship leads them on a story of exploration where they discover each other alongside the everyday interaction with their classmates.
Max Factory releases an Aisaka Taiga figure sculpted by Hironori Tokunaga which measures 10cm or 3.93" tall. To accentuate the fact that Aisaka is a tigress, she holds a little tiger in the palm of her hand.
